I’m deeply saddened by the loss of my friend and colleague, Arnold Chan, after his battle with cancer. I can’t imagine sitting in Parliament without my first seat mate. I’ll miss his humour as much as his driving, strategic mind.
Arnold has served as an example to all of us when it came to informed, honest and respectful debate in the House of Commons. First as a staffer and then as a Member of Parliament, Arnold has spent decades serving the public with passion and professionalism. He’ll be remembered fondly by all those fortunate enough to have known him.
My thoughts are with Arnold’s wife Jean and his three sons, Nathaniel, Ethan, and Theodore.
Rest in peace, Arnold.
